As there was a large number of plant shutdowns during the dual control of energy consumption in the second half of 2021, overall operating rates for filament yarn plants during the Lunar New Year holiday period, appeared to be higher than what it usually has been historically. In spite of rising feedstock prices in February, demand for filament yarn has not yet picked up, as downstream customers have already built up raw material inventories before the long holidays.
