Chinese Official Touts China's Campaign To Go to Source of Counterfeit Goods

The Chinese State Council has instituted a six-month campaign to crack down on counterfeiting and shoddy goods at the source of production, Chong Quan, the vice minister of commerce for China, told a U.S. Chamber of Commerce meeting Nov. 18. The special intellectual property rights campaign to crack down on counterfeit goods is to run until March and is led by Chinese Vice Premier Wang Qishan, Chong said. He said that the localities are being held responsible for the effort.
