Out of hospital sooner with fish oil in veins

The results of a randomised controlled trial of fish oil given intravenously to patients in intensive care suggest that it improves gas exchange, reduces inflammatory chemicals, and results in a shorter hospital stay. The researchers investigated the effects of including fish oil in the standard nutrient solution for patients with sepsis. Significant number of benefits was communicated in the Critical Care journal.
