There is a steady upward trend in the segment of small-tonnage cargo transportation. This applies to both the Coaster FreightIndex and the ISM Commodity Index. Global CFI has risen by another $0.26/t due to higher rates in the Black Sea ($0.36/t up) andthe Azov Sea ($0.55/t up), as well as in the EMed ($1.24/t up). The trade together with freight rates has stabilized in the Baltic Sea.Global ISM Commodity Index has added 4.1 points in late October. Quotes for Russian and Ukrainian grain keep rising slowly amidhealthy demand. Export prices for semi-finished steel products and steel scrap have grown by $10-15/t owing to strong demand forthese cargoes in Turkey.
