Global CFI has decreased by $0.09/t due to lower freight rates in the Azov Sea ($0.21/t down), the Gulf of Finland ($0.27/tdown), the lower Baltic ($0.27/t down) and the Far East ($0.26/t down). Global ISM Commodity Index has dropped by 6 points thisweek, stirring concerns among the shipowners. Prices for steel products and scrap have inched down. Demand for these cargoesremains rather weak. Grain prices have also stepped down somewhat, though the Black Sea cargoes are quite regularly sold abroad.Exports of Russian grain to Turkey have been suspended, that hurts the owners of sea-river fleet – they are pinning hopes thatthe problem will be resolved soon and meanwhile focusing on grain shipments to Kavkaz port road and the Mediterranean Sea,as well as on coal transportation.
