Focusing on the experiences of young people in the United States whose digital activity is often societally overlooked and ridiculed, this book reflects on the creative, collective and community-oriented ways that they are using digital tools as part of their daily lives. The Digital Edge: How Black and Latino Youth Navigate Digital Inequality analyses the intricacies of how digital technology and Internet culture impact the education and self-expression of young people, and in so doing it identifies some of the diffuse ways that such young people are engaging with and producing knowledge online, including by'codesigning digital media and learning environments to support extracurricular activities and media projects that were peer driven, creative, and tech savvy'(8).
