Is the goal of making a significant, sustainable contribution to a global energy and transport transition by means of a European solution sufff cient-ly clearly formulated to allow it to be implemented in the context of existing societal, political, scien-tiffc, economic, industrial and social structures? Has our focus on a rapid and sustainable resolution of the dependency of our complex energy and economic systems on fossil fuels been appropriately and comprehensively described and, most importantly, validated? Are global factors, comparability and competitiveness being adequately taken into consideration?
