SENSOR TECHNOLOGY: Validating Perception

The significance attached to sensors is growing in the direction of increasingly clever assistance systems and automated driving. Technology adds to this arbitrary perception processes, in contrast to a human control system that is limited to its current set of features. For example, ultrasound sensors or cameras are largely standard equipment on today's vehicles and there is hardly a vehicle series on the road without several or at least one of these measurement principles, for example for use as a parking or lane-keeping assistant.
