Grain market insight: EU grain traders note quite large and regular supplies to Asia

Ballooning demand, weakening euro and high prices for Russian grain put sales of grains and oilseeds from the EU countries on track to further increase. So, wheat exports from the European Union have already exceeded the results of the same period of the previous grain season. A 12 per cent heavier harvest of wheat which is expected in MY 2020-21 is the last but not least factor of increased exports of EU-origin wheat. So, from July 1 to Oct 10, EU traders supplied a total of 8.37 million tonnes of wheat to foreign markets, although the shipping volume amounted to about 6 mmt in the same period of 2020. Export of barley amounted to 2.6 mmt (against 2.4 mmt), while that of corn to 712,000 t (vs. 417,600 t).
