The 3Q cargo handling results at Ukrainian seaports

The Ukraine's seaports processed a total of 106.132 million tonnes of cargoes during the period started Jan 1 and ended Sep 30, 2021 (a 10.7 per cent or 12.67 mmt decrease compared with the same period of 2020), the Ukrainian Sea Ports authority said. The handling volume of export cargoes dropped by 10.6 per cent to 81.4 mmt, that of import cargoes by 5 per cent to 17.6 mmt, and that of transit cargoes by 20.1 per cent to 6.1 mmt. The handling volume of cabotage cargoes averaged some 1.36 mmt in 3Q 2021 (a 28.8 per cent decline year-on-year). The lion`s share of transshipped cargoes fell on ores and grains in Jan-Sep 2021. So, the Ukrainian ports all together processed a total of 31.6 mmt of grain (down 10.3 per cent y-o-y) and almost 28.7 mmt of ores (down 17.9 per cent y-o-y).
