As before, there is huge excitement on the Mediterranean coaster market amid ongoing shortage of open vessels and active trade. Demand for fertilizers and minerals remains high in EU countries. Steel exports keep ramping up owing to significant weakening of Turkish lira. Also, owners feel that charterers are able to pay even more than before due to a rapid increase in export prices for urea and some minerals.
