China buys large volumes of feed grains from France and Ukraine

Taking advantage of lower prices for many types of grains on the global market, China stepped up purchases of feed grains last week. In particular, the country purchased large volumes of French wheat and barley, as well as Ukrainian corn and barley. Concerning feed wheat: The recovery of the Chinese economy has triggered demand for feed wheat. So, last week Chinese buyers ordered approximately 600,000 t of French wheat with shipment from Jan to March 2022. The last week's contracts followed smaller deals signed in mid-Nov for the supply of French wheat by two or three vessels in the coming weeks.
