Transshipment volumes at Ukrainian seaports 6% down year-on-year

According to the information of the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority covering the period from Jan 1 till Nov 30, 2021, the country's seaports handled a total of 137.058 million tonnes of cargoes (down 6% or 8.725 mmt compared to the same period of 2020). Up to 34.8% of the total volume of cargoes handled by Ukrainian seaports in Jan-Nov 2021 fell on the Pivdennyi Sea Port, where port operators all together processed 47.696 mmt of cargoes in Jan-Nov 2021 against 56.421 mmt in Jan-Nov 2020 (down 15.5% year-onyear). Despite the decrease, this is nevertheless the best transshipment result among all country's seaports. The total handling volume of bulk cargoes amounted to 40.615 mmt compared with 48.569 mmt in Jan-Nov 2020 (down 16.4% y-o-y), including 26.314 mmt of ore, 8.57 mmt of grain and 2.182 mmt of coal. The port processed 38.243 mmt of export cargoes, 5.261 mmt of import cargoes and 4.093 mmt of transit cargoes.
