Grain market insight: Concerns over production and galloping prices drag down grain trade in Russia

Russian traders exported almost 6.3 million tonnes of grain from July 1 till August 23, 2021. This is 23 per cent below the shipping volume reported in the same period of the previous marketing year. By types of grains, wheat export totaled 4.62 million tonnes (a 21 per cent decrease compared with July 1-August 23, 2020), the shipping volume of barley averaged some 0.75 million tonnes (a 34 per cent slump) and that of corn amounted to 0.2 million tonnes (a 15 per cent decline)
