Negative sentiment prevails on the small-tonnage transportation market this week. Both in North Europe and the Mediterranean Sea, players note a slowdown in shipments of fertilizers and steel products. The tonnage list continues to grow slowly in all basins. In the Black Sea, the vessel list is getting longer due to improved weather in Ukraine, Russia and Romania. Still, owners have managed to stop the freight rate decline reported in the region since the start of the year. Owners are still supported by steadily growing VLSFO and gasoil prices.
