According to the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority, the country's seaports handled about 15.093 million tonnes of cargoes in Jan 2022, an impressive 50.2% surge compared to 10.052 mmt processed during Jan 2021. The TOP-4 seaports are traditionally the ports of Pivdennyi, Nikolayev, Chornomorsk and Odessa, with almost 81.5% of the overall handling volume of cargoes falling on them. Pivdennyi Sea Port - 33.8% of the total volume of cargoes handled at Ukrainian seaports in Jan 2022. Port operators all together processed 5.105 mmt of cargoes in Jan 2022 against 3.702 mmt in Jan 2021 (up 37.9% year-on-year). This is the best handling result among all country's seaports. Ores go first with 2.274 mmt (up 5% y-o-y), while grain takes the second place with 1.269 mmt (an overwhelming 2.7 times increase). The total handling volume of bulk cargoes amounted to 4.413 mmt in Jan 2022 compared with 3.066 mmt in Jan 2021 (up 44% y-o-y).
