Cartilage treatment and biologics current research

摘要

Arthroscopic and related surgeons can be perfectionists, so it is frustrating when we are faced with a problem for which we have no cure. Our mission is to better treat patients, so when we encounter full-thickness cartilage defects or irreparable subtotal meniscal tears, we are at a loss. We do have salvage procedures, like cartilage restoration and meniscus allotransplantation, but we don't have a cure. In the 21st century, biologics offers promising new treatment options for articular cartilage and fibro-cartilage (such as meniscus). Unfortunately, sometimes it feels like we don't know much about biology.... Fortunately, we can continue to learn.
