摘要

In the April 26, 2010, issue, Briesacher et al show that benzodiazepine use in nursing homes decreased significantly when Medicare stopped reimbursing for them in certain US states. Furthermore, they state that "the large reductions in benzodiazepine use were not associated with decreased risk of fracture outcomes. In fact, while their data show no change in absolute number of falls, there was a statistically significant increase in hip fractures.
