Welcome to the forty-seventh annual NCRP meeting

Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. It is with great pleasure that I present the opening remarks at this 47th Annual Meeting of the National Council on Radiation Protection and Measurements. The topic of this year's meeting, Scientific and Policy Challenges of Particle Radiations in Medical Therapy and Space Missions, is very timely and a subject of broad interest.
