摘要

Watson and Strom (2011) made several errors in summarizing our radiochemical procedure for ~(226)Ra in human bone (Hallden et al. 1963): 1. Watson and Strom state, "Hallden et al. (1963) dry-ashed bone samples, added a barium carrier, and then dissolved the samples in hydrochloric acid (HC1). A multi-step process yielded BaRaSO_4 precipitate, which was removed, dissolved in an acid solution, and held for 5 h to allow a buildup of the ~(226)Ra decay product. The sample was then gamma counted twice for 14 h, and the two results were averaged."
