Sekisui Chemical Creates New Brand in Push for Biorefinery Business

Sekisui Chemical Co. Ltd. (TYO:4204) has launched Unison, a new brand for its biorefinery business. By promoting this brand, the company aims to get a wide range of stakeholders participating as partners, with plans through this to then create a new social system for resource recycling. Ethanol created through the Unison system will first be utilized for polyolefin production under Sumitomo Chemical Co. Ltd. (TYO:4005), a partner from the same industry. Then after being used for a range of molded products and the like, these polyolefins can be turned back into resources through Sekisui Chemical's biorefinery ethanol technology.
