UPL's agro sales rise 13% in Q2

UPL recorded a 13.2% increase in sales to Rs 85,340 million ($1,444.4 million at the current) for its "agro activities" comprising agrochemicals and seeds in its second quarter ended September 30th. Agro activities accounted for 95.5% of the company's consolidated quarterly sales, which stood at Rs 89,390 million ($1,198.7 million), up 14.4% from the corresponding period last year. Growth was driven by strong sales across most markets, which benefited from favourable agronomic conditions and an improved supply chain. Business momentum was maintained despite Covid-19 and foreign exchange volatility weighing down operations, says the company.
