Agchem product treated area up in Q3 in Brazil despite value fall

The cumulative [agrochemical] product area treated (PAT) rose by some 5% in Brazil to 212.2 million ha. PAT is calculated by multiplying the area treated with the frequency of applications. The data have been collected by Brazilian crop protection trade association, the Sindiveg, and Spark Intelligence Strategy based on a Business Intelligence Panel (BIP) study. The data do not reflect the total number of products sold, as some of them are not actually used by growers, the Sindiveg explains. A Sindiveg study found that the PAT for the first six months of the year had risen by 6% to 643.2 million ha.
