Bayer to divest part of its Indian hybrid seeds business

Bayer’s Crop Science division has decided to hive off a portion of its hybrid seeds business in India involving cotton, millet, mustard and sorghum crops to New Delhi-based agrochemical company Crystal Crop Protection. The sale includes real estate owned by the company at Patancheru, in the state of Telangana. The divestment is to be undertaken on a slump sale basis for Rs 620 million ($8.3 million at the current rate).
