Brazil CTNBio OKs another CTC GM cane

The Brazilian technical biosafety commission, the CTNBio, has recommended approval of Brazilian company Centro de Tecnologia Canavieira’s (CTC - Piracicaba) genetically modified insect-resistant sugar cane (CTC95019). The commission’s human and animal health sub-committee gave the green light at this month’s meeting. That followed the authorisation from the environment sub-committee in November last year.
