摘要

When Steve West was growing up in Birkenhead on Auckland's North Shore, one of his favourite times was the annual local inorganic collection - when discarded household items were left piled up by the roadside. From a young age, Steve took great delight in "pulling things apart", and couldn't resist rummaging through the treasure-trove of old technology lining the streets. "Thanks to me I'm pretty sure our house was a net importer of junk," he tells NZBusiness. "I was a bit of a hoarder." "Thankfully we have a friend who sorted our lives in that regard," chips in Dee, his wife and biggest cheerleader, referring to the tidied Charge.Net premises in Albany where our interview is taking place.
