EU Ombudsman clarifies agchem assessment procedures

The European Ombudsman has clarified that concerns about a risk assessment in progress for an agrochemical active ingredient should be discussed with the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) and the rapporteur member state, not the European Commission. Once an assessment has been concluded, comments may be submitted for consideration by the Commission, but no new studies will be accepted.
