US hedge fund Starboard Value is seeking to replace Corteva Agrisciences’ chief executive oicer, Jim Collins, and has nominated eight candidates to the company’s 12-strong board of directors. The fund, one of the largest Corteva shareholders is aiming to oust Mr Collins over a “litany of missed promises and unforced errors” since the 2019 spin- off of DowDuPont’s agriculture business as Corteva. Starboard has much of the Corteva board in its crosshairs, accusing its members of “aversion to leadership change” symptomatic of a “broader preference for comfort and the status quo”. It reportedly held some 1.6% of company shares in October.
