EU to approve CEV’s new low-risk biofungicide

EU member states have voted in favour of the proposed approval of Portuguese company CEV’s new biofungicide, aqueous extract from the germinated seeds of sweet Lupinus albus, as a “low-risk” active ingredient. It is for use as spray applications against foliar fungi on strawberries and tomatoes, in fields and greenhouses, as Problad Plus. The extract’s main component is the polypeptide-based BLAD protein (Banda de Lupinus albus doce). The 15-year approval will commence after the decision has been published in the EU Oicial Journal.
