Indonesia reveals GM crop regulation

Indonesia’s Ministry of Agriculture (MOA) has released a regulation underlining post-monitoring guidelines for the commercial cultivation of genetically modified crops in the country, reports the USDA’s Foreign Agriculture Service (FAS). The guidelines have been 16 years in the making, following the country’s initial establishment of a regulatory framework governing GM crops in 2005. The reason behind Indonesia holding GM crops in abeyance has long been attributed to the absence of post-monitoring protocols.
