Investors to sue Bayer in Germany by year end over Monsanto takeover

A German regional court in Cologne has issued a resolution to proceed a case for Bayer shareholders to sue the German company for alleged failure to warn adequately of the risks of the Monsanto takeover in 2018, prosecuting law firm, Tilp, reports. The plaintiffs accuse the company of providing insuicient warnings from 2016 over pending lawsuits against its acquisition target, Monsanto. The 22nd Civil Chamber of the Regional Court of Cologne resolution paves the way for “model proceedings” employing the Investor Procedure Act (KapMuG) for determination by the Higher Regional Court of Cologne.
