Australasia to OK Indear’s GM wheat use in food pending comments

Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) has called for comments on a proposed approval for use of a genetically modified wheat in food. The application comes from Argentine soybean development consortium Bioceres’ (Rosario) research and development business, Indear, for its herbicide-tolerant and drought-tolerant HB4 (IND00412) wheat. IND00412 expresses the novel protein HaHB4. The wheat offers tolerance to glufosinate herbicide.
