Ghana to resume approval process Bt cowpeas

Ghana’s National Biosafety Authority (GNBA) is resuming its registration process for genetically modified insect-resistant Bt cowpeas, the US Cornell University-based non-profit organisation, Cornell Alliance for Science, reports. The pod border (Maruca vitrata)-resistant technology would become the country’s first approved GM crop. The development reportedly comes after the appointment of a new board to the GNBA.
