New EU biocide data requirements to come into force

New information requirements for the EU assessment and approval of biocides, including non-crop pesticides, will come into force on April 15th. They will apply to applications for approval submitted from April 15th 2022 onwards, although applicants may choose to use the data requirements from this April. The new rules are based on the European Commission’s proposals last year for certain updates, including making it a legal obligation to follow EU guidance on identifying biocides that are potential endocrine disruptors (EDs).
