A winning strategy

Having a well thought-out strategy is a key element to being a successful export business. As winners of the most compelling strategy category at this year's ExportNZ Hawke's Bay Awards, RCR Energy know a lot about using strategy for success. I asked operations manager, Hamish McBeth, about their journey so far. "This award was focused around the work we do with one of our clients, Nestle. We've been working with them since 2008 providing boilers to burn their ground coffee waste. One of RCR's speciality products is the design and build of waste to energy boilers. From Nestle's coffee making business, they end up with coffee grounds which are a combustible fuel. Our boilers burn that fuel and generate steam. The steam can then be used in the process for making coffee so it's a waste-to-energy process.
