A note on Tulipa cinnabarina.

This paper describes how a species name Karin Persson published for a Turkish tulip in The New Plantsman in 2000, Tulipa cinnabarina, takes priority over another name of the same species published a short time later. Although referring to the same species based on the description and locality of the species, the Flora of Turkey 11 (supplement 2) where authors Ozhatay and Kocak referred to this species as Tulipa karamanica, was not published and distributed until early 2001. Hence, Tulipa cinnabarina take priority as being the earliest validly published name for the species..
