The silent nightmare strangling New Zealand

EVERYBODY KNOWS that when one business is dominant in a country that economic and social stability is at risk of severe disturbance. Yet the blindness to the property monoculture continues unabated in New Zealand. According to the OECD house price index there has been a 270 percent increase in house prices since 2000. This may look comforting, but it is not a good thing when the average for OECD members is less than half that~1. That means the rest of the OECD has put double the amount of investment into productive sectors than New Zealand has over the same period. For a true picture of the distortion see below~2.
