The Ukrainian Kyiv School of Economics (KSE – Kiev) estimates damages to the country’s agriculture sector from the ongoing Russian invasion at $4.3 billion, reports newswire Bloomberg. Of the losses, around half are projected to have been caused by pollution from landmines and unharvested crops, while grains worth $613 million from occupied regions have allegedly been siphoned off to Russia. Furthermore, the institute pegs losses from ruined farm machinery at $926 million, which is a quarter of the total estimate.
