Sumitomo Corporation agrees to acquire Nativa businesses

Japanese company Sumitomo Corporation has agreed a deal to acquire the Brazilian agricultural inputs supplier, Nativa Agronegocios, and agriculture technology distributor Nativa Agricola (both Patos de Minas). The Nativa group of businesses would become a wholly owned subsidiary of Sumitomo. The deal would go through Sumitomo existing subsidiary Agro Amazonia Produtos Agropecuários (Cuiaba). The deal is subject to approval of national authorities. It is scheduled to close by the end of this year.
