Israeli PE firms acquire two seed companies

Israeli seed companies Nirit Seeds (Hadar Am) and TomaTech (Rehovot) have been acquired by Tel-Aviv-based private equity firm AP Partners and investment holding business Discount Investment. The transaction is valued at over $60 million, with the parent companies looking to merge the businesses and create the country’s “largest” vegetable seeds company. They note that the merged unit will benefit from “significant” synergies and “unique” research and development capabilities.
