J-Power IPO expected in 2004

Japan's semi-government owned J-Power is expected to launch in 2004 an initial public offering (IPO) of shares controlled by the Japanese government, sources said. The Japanese parliament passed last month the amendments to a 1952 law that created the Electric Power Development Co. (EPDC), the old name of J-Power, allowing an initial public flotation of the J-Power shares.
