In this paper, we discuss the theory, method, instrumentation, surveying techniques, and data processing and interpretation in airborne gamma-ray spectrometry and the new development of its applications to geological mapping, gold and nonferrous metallic deposit, prospecting, gas and oil exploration, potash deposit prospecting and uranium deposit prospecting in China. #1997 Elsevier Science Ltd.
