Holistic approach eases people's way

Improving New Zealanders' access to key services and activities lies behind a recent research report commissioned by the NZ Transport Agency (NZTA) into a specialised and holistic field of planning - accessibility planning. Accessibility planning is used in various forms in many countries around the world. It ranges from a comprehensive approach, where it is integrated into a country's land use and transport planning systems, to more limited approaches for specific ends. Accessibility planning has the ability to improve individual and community wellbeing by ensuring people can access the places and services they need.
