Higher costs support China's Zr oxychloride prices

Chinese zirconium oxychloride prices may rise further in the coming days, according to market participants, because of higher zircon sand feedstock costs and firmer demand from the zirconium chemical sector. Prices for zircon sand have been rising since the start of March in response to tighter spot availability, following output cuts by large international mining companies with the Covid-19 pandemic and renewed demand from Chinese zirconium products manufacturers.
