Solid-Liquid Separation, Fourth Edition

There is quite a substantial number of books that have been written on filtration and separation of solid-liquid systems. However, it is usually not an easy task for teachers to find one which provides a comprehensive coverage of the topic and illustrative enough to be used at both, undergraduate and graduate levels. A book "Solid-Liquid Separation" edited by Professor Ladislav Svarovski is an excellent example of a text perfectly suitable to meet teacher's expectations at all educational levels. The first edition of the book (1997) has been developed from a manual used to run an annual post-experience short course offered at Bradford University for industry. In the following editions the book has gone through some modifications and the latest fourth edition (2000) represents the state of the art in the area of solid-liquid separation. The book comprises chapters on fundamental theory, technological design and, especially, equipment operation considering not just main operational parameters such as efficiency and resistance of the technology but also other important aspects such as separator regeneration, flocculation, filter aids, etc.
