摘要

For the design of many chemical reactors, bubble columns or aerated bioreactors the determination of the mass transfer rate between the dispersed phase (bubbles, droplets) and the continuous phase is required. This rate depends on the flow pattern in the reactor, which is influenced by the phase interaction as well as by the size and shape of the interface and by interfacial effects induced by concentration fluctuations and by interfacial tension. In addition the mass transfer within both phases and the respective thermal equilibrium has to be considered.
