The ProPledge aftermarket warranty program, is being piloted to enhance dealer confidence. The initiative by SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association)-member manufacturers and installers offers a free warranty for three years/30,000 miles for their products and installations. That means: (1) If the product is defective, the manufacturer pays for repair or replacement; (2) if the installation causes a problem, the installer absorbs the labor and any parts or replacement costs; and (3) if a defect causes the vehicle to malfunction, the repair payment to the dealership is covered. A customer support center helps resolve warranty problems. The Specialty Equipment Warranty Alliance (SEWA), a SEMA subsidiary, oversees the program and helps with dispute resolution.
