In this year of challenges for the retail auto industry, one of our most pressing needs is being able to recruit and retain talented, qualified technicians. Part of our industry's problem is that people-young folks, along with their parents, teachers, and guidance counselors-don't really understand that working at a dealership can be a viable, long-term, financially rewarding career. That's why, every year, NADA sponsors Automotive Career Month, a major campaign that helps enormously in getting the word out that we not only have good jobs for good pay, but also offer careers that enable people to grow in our organizations.
