Incentives are particularly strong for light trucks right now. "We will be in a truck war, I think that's proven to be the case," says Sam Pack, Sam Pack's Five-Star Ford, Carrollton, Tex. But overall, incentives have moderated since the most recent peaks, during employee pricing in summer 2005 and the start of zero-interest financing in 2001. "You are not seeing the fire sales like we've seen in the past," says Global Insight analyst George Magliano.
