Granular urea prices edged up this week at the midpoint, ranging $220-231/st fob Nola for barges. Prices increased in early-week trade, with January barges climbing as high as $227/st fob and February to $231/st fob, against a backdrop of enhanced risk to supply from the Mid- dle East. But values retreated on Wednesday, down to $220/ st fob for January and $228/st fob for February — equivalent to $246/t cfr — and the market remains soft at press-time.
